Three years ago, I submitted by first entries to The Portrait Masters. The Portrait Masters is an international awards and accreditation program that accepts entries twice a year. Each entry is judged according to 9 different criteria – expression and connection, styling, composition, posing, lighting, overall technique and presentation, post-production, focus, and storytelling. And each entry is judged by 5 top photographers and educators from around the world.

I received my first Bronze merits, which is a score of 70-79 out of 100, which demonstrates a professional standard of work. I was thrilled, and decided to continue working towards the first level of accreditation – Associate. It was going to be a long journey, but over the past three years I’ve continued to submit and receive Bronze merits, and ‘Bronze with Distinctions’ for my work, meaning that my portraits are of a consistent professional standard.

This week I found out that I have finally achieved the level of ‘Associate’ with The Portrait Masters, celebrating the high quality of work that I create. On this page, I’ve shared with you some of the award-winning images from the past few years that I have submitted. I am, as ever, eternally grateful to my wonderful clients who not only trust me to photograph them, but also give me permission to enter their portraits into competitions. Thank you!
